What does it take to start a group?

Team ENOUGH groups are coming together across the country to engage their communities in efforts to change laws including registering to vote, showing up at the polls and throwing out NRA-backed politicians.

What does it take to start a group?

  1. Be dedicated to the mission. We need to reform gun laws in America in order to stop the gun violence that kills 96 people EVERY SINGLE DAY.
  2. Invite your friends, classmates, or others committed to making the country a safer place for ALL people. It doesn’t matter if it’s a group of four or fifty– all are welcome.
  3. A captain. Of course, you can have more than one, but it will be key for at least one participant to serve as captain for logistical reasons. A captain will be responsible for communicating with Team ENOUGH’s national organizers.
  4. A “coach”. If your team is hosted by a school, you’ll likely need a faculty advisor. Either way,  it’s often helpful to have a team member above the age of 18 for those annoying details like securing an event permit.
  5. Team positions. It may be helpful to have team members take on different roles. Consider items like social media outreach, organizing events, recruiting members, and talking with the media.
