WHAT The local chapter of Team ENOUGH (the youth arm of Brady) will be addressing the Hillsborough County School Board on February 19, 2019, and presenting the board members with a written resolution reaffirming the board’s position against arming teachers in the public school system. It is our wish that every school board member signs the document.

WHEN Tuesday, February 19, 2019 3:30 PM

WHERE School Board of Hillsborough County 901 E. Kennedy Blvd. Tampa, FL 33602

WHY The recent passage of Senate Bill 7030 through the Florida Senate Education Committee suggests that the Florida Legislature is intent on allowing school boards in the state of Florida to decide whether or not teachers in their district should be armed. The Florida PTA has come out against this. Parents from across the state have spoken out against this. And above all, the students who this policy would directly affect have spoken out against it. To ease the minds of concerned teachers, parents, and students across Hillsborough County, we ask that our written resolution be signed by all members of the Hillsborough County School Board, reaffirming their stance against arming teachers and putting guns into classrooms.
