Team ENOUGH Announces 2023 Lobbying Collective Members in Virginia, Florida

Team ENOUGH’s Lobbying Collective Will Lobby State Legislators for Stronger Gun Violence Prevention Legislation

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jan. 12, 2022 – Today, Team ENOUGH announced more than 30 new members of its Virginia and Florida “lobbying collectives.”

These state-based collectives, the only youth-led groups lobbying for gun reform in America, help train the next generation of advocates and activists on how to create change in their communities, leveraging the unique perspectives of young people. Collective members will be lobbying their state legislatures to pass sensible gun violence prevention legislation, including assault weapons and high-magazine capacity bans, as well as opposing NRA-backed efforts to repeal evidence-based “red flag law” procedures and permits for concealed handgun carry.

In addition to Virginia and Florida, Team ENOUGH also has lobbying collectives active in California and Washington, D.C.

Team ENOUGH National Lobbying Coordinator Alyssa Ackbar said:

“This new class of Lobbying Collective participants in Virginia and Florida bring fresh energy and perspective to Team ENOUGH’s work. Young people have been uniquely affected by gun violence, from regular active shooter threats to school shootings, we have lived with the consequences of inaction our entire lives.

“This newest class of Lobbying Collective participants will bring passion and energy to this work, pressing on the need for our state legislatures to end gun violence. Team ENOUGH’s work and the work of these Lobbying Collectives has never been more important.”

Brady President Kris Brown said:

“The Team ENOUGH Youth Lobbying Collective harnesses the passion and energy that young people have to enact change to prevent gun violence in America. No generation is more eager or well-equipped to advocate for gun safety legislation in our country. We look forward to seeing the success this year’s lobbying collective will bring.”
