We Joined Highland Park Survivors Fighting to #PassTheBan on Assault Weapons
We were proud partners of March Fourth’s #PassTheBan rally in Washington, D.C. March Fourth was formed by victims and survivors of the Highland Park massacre. They are demanding the U.S. Senate ban assault weapons, like the one used to kill seven people and wound 48 others in their community.
Team ENOUGH Founding Member Aalayah Eastmond spoke passionately about surviving the 2018 Parkland massacre and why the Senate must pass the Assault Weapons Ban, which would reinstate the 1994 ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.
“As a survivor, sharing your story isn’t easy. It isn't fun, I would much rather be at my dorm studying for my next exam. But I am proud to join so many other survivors [in] calling attention to these weapons of war that have harmed us and our loved ones. We are going to make the Senate DO THEIR JOB!”
— Aalayah Eastmond
Please join us in urging the U.S. Senate to ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines NOW.
In September, Team ENOUGH activists hit the road and traveled to Philadelphia for the Made in America (MIA) music festival. We organized, shared Team ENOUGH’s life-saving work, and recruited nearly 100 new members to join the fight against gun violence! Follow us on Instagram to see more photos from MIA.
Urge the U.S. Senate to Support the Break the Cycle of Violence Act!
The U.S. House passed the Break the Cycle of Violence Act. This life-saving legislation would invest in evidence-based anti-violence programs and provide job opportunities and workforce training to break cycles of gun violence. Sustained funding for evidence-based violence intervention is essential to reducing gun violence in disproportionately impacted Black and Brown communities — and that’s exactly what the Break the Cycle of Violence Act would accomplish.
We’re Fighting to Keep Guns Off the Metro in Washington, D.C.
Team ENOUGH submitted an amicus brief in support of the District of Columbia’s ban on firearms on the Metro transit system. No one should fear being shot and killed. If this law is overturned, it would be the first time the public would be able to carry firearms on the Metro in Washington, D.C. We are fighting to ensure this dangerous reality does not take place.
